Lately, I've been listening to French music of the 1960's. The soothing romantic sounds of Edith Piaf (see my Castle in France Video). Through searching for other French music, I came across Serge Gainsbourg and naturally learned of the sexy, hip, talented, stylish, Jane Birkin. She emerged in the 'Swinging London' scene in 1960's.
An Actress, singer and style Icon. In 1973 she was cast in movie 'Don Juan' playing the part of Bridget Bardot's lover.
Over the years she has collaborated with artists such as Brian Ferry, Brian Molko from Placebo, Franz Ferdinand, Manu Chao, Brett Anderson from Suede, Mickey 3D, Françoise Hardy, Cali, The Divine Comedy, The Magic Numbers, Beck, Rufus Wainwright, Benjamin Biolay, Keren Ann, Yann Tiersen, Alain Souchon, Les Negresses Vertes, Johnny Marr from The Smiths, The Soundtrack of Our Lives and many others. Here are some pics of the beautiful 60's 'It Girl'...
